Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend, Australia

​The Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend, funded by the Australian Government, is designed to support both domestic and international students undertaking Research Doctorate and Research Masters degrees. Eligible applicants include Australian and New Zealand citizens, Australian permanent residents, humanitarian visa holders, and international students who meet Monash University's scholarship selection and English language proficiency requirements. The RTP Stipend offers substantial benefits, including a living allowance of $35,013 per annum (current rate and, if eligible, a relocation allowance. Additionally, international students may access a variety of tuition scholarships, while domestic students automatically receive an RTP Fees Offset. Eligibility Criteria:

You must be one of the following:

• Australian citizen
• New Zealand citizen
• Australian permanent resident
• Australian humanitarian visa holder
• International student

Additionally, you must:

• Meet Monash's competitive scholarship selection process requirements
• Meet Monash English language proficiency requirements
• This scholarship is also available to students undertaking Joint Research Awards when Monash University is the home institution.

How to Apply:

Application for graduate research scholarships is done at the time of applying for your course, unless you are already enrolled. Whether you are a new or current student, the same application process is used for both admission and/or scholarship via our Applicant Portal. You do not need to specify which scholarship you are applying for as you will automatically be considered for all graduate research scholarships (where eligible).

Selection Criteria:

Monash scholarships are highly competitive and are awarded based on your academic record, any research outputs, and prior research experience. If successful in receiving an RTP Stipend, please familiarize yourself with the conditions and benefits specified in the policy and procedures.
