New Zealand Regional Development Scholarships (NZRDS) are for Pacific Island candidates to gain knowledge and skills in specific subject areas that will assist in the development of their home country. Scholars undertake their study in the Pacific region, providing scholars with the option of studying closer to home in a Pacific environment and culture.
The NZRDS programme complements the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s scholarships for training in New Zealand by: Enabling scholars to pursue programmes of study in fields where the option of studying in New Zealand is limited or not offered. Contributing to broader objectives including development of regional institutions and building strong person-to-person relationships across the region.
