Online application

​The Papua New Guinea Defence Force (PNGDF) is now shifting entirely to an online recruitment system. Manual submission of applications—via hand delivery or postal services—will no longer be accepted. All aspiring candidates must submit their application digitally through a secure portal that will be publicized soon through the media and online platforms.

What You Need to Apply
To ensure your application is complete, you must gather all required documents and combine them into a single PDF file in the correct order. This will streamline the review process and avoid delays. Your PDF must include:

1. Letter of Interest
2. Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV)
3. Copies of all relevant academic and other certificates
4. One form of valid identification (choose one): NID, Driver’s License, Passport, Work ID, Student ID, or Birth Certificate
5. Recent Police Clearance
6. Recent Valid Medical Certificate
7. Three (3) Character References

Who Can Apply
The PNGDF is seeking committed, fit, and disciplined individuals. Applicants must meet strict eligibility criteria to ensure they are capable of completing military training. You must:

1. Be between 18–25 years of age
2. Have a minimum Grade C or better in academic results
3. Be single (not married)
4. Be at least 170 cm tall
5. Be free from harmful drug use, deformities, or serious health conditions including HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis B, high/low blood pressure, obesity, vision issues, or physical disabilities
6. Be a citizen of Papua New Guinea
7. Be computer literate

What to Expect If Shortlisted
If your application passes the initial screening, you will be invited to participate in a series of assessments designed to evaluate your suitability for military service. These include:

• A Literacy Test
• A Detailed Medical Examination
• Psychometric Testing
• An Interview
• A Physical Fitness Test
