Israeli Government Scholarships

​Study in Israel! The Israeli government offers scholarships to foreign students who are citizens of countries that have cultural agreements with Israel. Scholarships are granted after the candidate has been accepted to an Israeli University. The terms and conditions of each scholarship may change from time to time. 

Two types of scholarships are typically offered:

1. For Summer language courses (Ulpan) 
2. For an academic year, or for research scholarships

• Israeli Government Scholarships Eligible Countries

The following countries are eligible to apply for Israeli Government Scholarships. 
Argentina, Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Canada (Quebec Province), China, Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Korea, Lithuania, Latvia, Mexico, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Republic of Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Taiwan and Turkey.

The following countries have a special scholarship arrangement:
Belgium, Denmark, Germany, India, Great Britain, Finland, France, Japan, Norway, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Russia.

Applicants should meet a number of basic requirements:

•  Hold a BA, BSc or a more advanced degree with a good track record of academic achievement
•  Under the age of 35
•  Know English or Hebrew
•  Meet the academic requirements of the institution they enroll

Scholarship Benefits

Full scholarship includes:

• Tuition fee
• Monthly allowance for one academic year (8 months only)
• Basic health insurance*

Partial scholarship includes:

• Part of the tuition fee
• Monthly allowance for one academic year (8 months only)
• Basic health insurance*

How to Apply for Israeli Scholarships 

​What to include in your application Form

• Completed application form - Download application forms  
• Detailed letter describing the field the applicant intends to study in Israel, specifying the University he/she wishes to attend 
• Curriculum Vitae 
• Copies of letters exchanged with Israeli universities, or in the case of a research or post doctorate – the relevant Israeli supervisor. Not required for Ulpan Scholarship.
• Official original academic records (or notarized copies) of all relevant studies and test scores, diplomas attesting the completion of an academic degree, including a transcript of the student's records 
• At least two (2) letters of recommendation from lecturers/professors who taught the candidate 
• Three (3) photographs 
• Certificate of health

To apply for the scholarship the candidate should complete the application form and provide relevant letters, documents, transcripts, photos and certificates.
