Given the very intense competition for Rhodes Scholarships and for places at the University of Oxford, you will be more competitive for election and have a greater chance of successful admission to Oxford if you have:
- literary and scholastic attainments (academic excellence)
- energy to use one's talents to the full (as demonstrated by mastery in areas such as sports, music, debate, dance, theatre, and artistic pursuits, particularly where teamwork is involved)
- truth, courage, devotion to duty, sympathy for and protection of the weak, kindliness, unselfishness and fellowship
- moral force of character and instincts to lead, and to take an interest in one's fellow beings.
Entry Requirements
Given the very intense competition for Rhodes Scholarships and for places at the University of Oxford, you will be more competitive for election and have a greater chance of successful admission to Oxford if you have:
- Undergraduate Degree or A First Class Honours Degree or equivalent, or,
- A high GPA (greater than 3.7/4 or 6.75/7) or Weighted Average Mark (80% or greater), or equivalent, in your degree(s), and
- Other indicators of achievement, such as awards or prizes
- Must by 18 years of age
- English language proficiency Test results are required
