Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships for Vanuatu

The Government of New Zealand offers fully funded Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships each year to eligible students from Vanuatu.
Previously known as the New Zealand Pacific Scholarships and Development Scholarships, the programme has now been consolidated under the Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships framework.
These scholarships aim to build skills, knowledge, and leadership capacity to support Vanuatu’s long-term national development.

Types of Scholarships Available
1. Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships (Long-Term Study)These scholarships support students to pursue:

• Undergraduate degrees (Bachelor’s)
• Postgraduate qualifications (Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma, Master’s, PhD)

Study is usually undertaken in New Zealand, and in some cases, within approved Pacific institutions.

📅 Closing date: Typically 31 March annually
👉 Applicants must complete a pre-application eligibility process before submitting a full application.

2. Short-Term Training Scholarships

These are designed for professionals and individuals seeking practical skills:

• Vocational and technical training
• Courses lasting less than 12 months
• Focused on priority development sectors

📅 Applications may be available throughout the year, depending on training opportunities.
