New Zealand offers a number of scholarships  to assist international students to study in New Zealand through the Manaaki Scholarship Program. These scholarships are fully funded by the New Zealand Government 

Scholarships are available to citizens from selected developing countries to undertake vocational training or tertiary level study in New Zealand, or in the Pacific region.

New Zealand Scholarships empower scholars with the knowledge, skills and qualifications to contribute to the economic, social and political development of your country.

New Zealand offers a range of qualifications including new one year Master options.

Scholarships for International Students 

New Zealand Pacific Scholarships (NZPS) : These are available for both undergraduate and postgraduate study in New Zealand. NZPS applications are due by 27 February of each year (please note there is a pre-application process).

New Zealand Regional Development Scholarhips (NZRDS) : These are available for both undergraduate and postgraduate study at a Pacific based tertiary institution. NZRDS applications are due by 27 February of each year.

Short Term Training Awards (STTA)  :  Theseare available for vocational and skills-based training in New Zealand for a period of less than one year. STTA applications are due by 28 March of each year.

• New Zealand Development Scholarships

This scholarships are offered to  international students from selected developing countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Carribbean to study in New Zealand to gain knowledge and skills through post-graduate study in specific subject areas that will assist in the development of their home country.  The scholarships include tuition fees, travel costs, living allowance, and insurance. 

• New Zealand ASEAN Scholar Awards

The New Zealand-ASEAN Scholar Awards are scholarships for international students from Southeast Asian countries who wants to pursue postgraduate studies in Universities and colleges New Zealand with the intention to help in the development of their home countries.  The scholarships include tuition fees, travel costs,  living allowance, and insurance.

• New Zealand Pacific Scholarships

New Zealand Pacific Scholarships (NZPS) are available for candidates from selected countries in the Pacific Region and supports both undergraduate and postgraduate study in New Zealand.  The scholarships include tuition fees, travel costs,  living allowance, reunion fares, settling allowances  and insurance.

• New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarships

Under the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan  the New Zealand Government offers Commonwealth scholarship for the students of participating developing commonwealth countries who wish to pursue Masters and PhD studies at New Zealand universities.  The New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarships scheme funds tuition and enrolment fees, an establishment allowance, a basic stipend, approved scholarship-related travel, some course-related costs, and medical and travel insurance.
