New Zealand Scholarships for Papua New Guinea
Every year Papua New Guinea gets Scholarships from New Zealand Government for Papua New Guinea students to study in New Zealand. Previously the scholarship was called Development Scholarships but recently the scholarships name has changed to Pacific Scholarships. This scholarships are awarded to the Pacific Island countries and Papua New Guinea benefit alot from this scholarship.
There are different types of Scholarship offered. There closing dates are also indicated here. New Zealand Pacific Scholarships (NZPS): These scholarships are available for both undergraduate and postgraduate students from Papua New Guinea to study in New Zealand. NZPS applications are due by 31 May of each year (please note there is a pre-applicaition process). New Zealand Regional Development Scholarships (NZRDS). These scholarships are available for both undergraduate and postgraduate study at a Pacific based tertiary institution. NZRDS applications are due by 31 May of each year (please note there is a pre-application process). Short Term Training Awards (STTA): These scholarships are available for vocational and skills-based training in New Zealand for a period of less than one year. STTA applications can be made at any time of the year. The Scholarships are offered in Papua New Guineas's development priority areas. Economic development including economics, marketing, management, money and finance, resource management, engineering, planning, agriculture, forestry and environmental studies Education including education administration, curriculum development, teacher education, assessment and evaluation Governance including public policy and administration, financial management, economics, auditing, monitoring and evaluation, social policy, social work and community development. Qualification Types. Under this Scholarship, Papua New Guinea students can study to obtain the following qualifications. Diploma (1-2 years) Bachelor (3-4 years) Postgraduate Certificate (6 months) Postgraduate Diploma (1 year) Masters (research and/or coursework) (1-2 years) Doctoral (PhD) (3.5-4 year. |
