New Zealand Scholarships for Cook Islands
The government of New Zealand provides scholarships for Cook Islands students to study in New Zealand. The scholarship is called New Zealand Pacific Scholarships. Cook Islands students are invited to apply for this scholarship every year.
These Scholarships are offered in specific subject areas that are relevant to the development needs and employment opportunities in Cook Islands. Scholarships are available for the following subjects:

• Education (Secondary teaching: especially for Maths and Science subjects) • Finance management • Health • ICT • Marine Resources/Fisheries • Renewable energy • Trade areas • Waste management • Other areas may be included (excluding Aviation, Civil Engineering and Architectural studies) New Zealand has world class education institutions that offer internationally recognised qualifications. Qualification Types and Duration

• Diploma (1-2 years)
• Bachelor (3-4 years)
• Postgraduate Certificate (6 months)
• Postgraduate Diploma (1 year)
• Masters (research and/or coursework) (1-2 years)
• Doctoral (PhD) (3.5-4 years)
How to Apply
1. Applicants will need to collect a preliminary application form from the Cook Islands Ministry of Education or from theirwebsite . Preliminary applications should be sent directly to the same Ministry by 30 April.

2. Based on their preliminary application, candidates will be assessed for eligibility and successful candidates will then be asked to submit an application for the relevant scholarship.
