New Zealand Scholarships for Solomon Islands
Solomon Islands students benefit from several yearly scholarships offered by different countries. The scholarships offered tie the relationships between Solomon Islands and the international countries. As one of the Pacific Island countries, Solomon Islands enjoys "Pacific Scholarships" which is offered by the New Zealand Government. The New Zealand Goverment offers this scholarship program to all other Pacific Island countries to help in their development. Solomon Islands is one of the countries that benefits alot from this scholarship.
The scholarships offered assist very well in the Solomon Islands' priority development areas including Education Economic development Governance and Health. The different types of Scholarship offered are indicated here: New Zealand Pacific Scholarships (NZPS): These scholarships are available for both undergraduate and postgraduate students from Solomon Islands to study in New Zealand. New Zealand Regional Development Scholarships (NZRDS). These scholarships are also available for both undergraduate and postgraduate study at a Pacific based tertiary institution. NZPS and NZRDS applications are due by 31 each year (please note there is a pre-application process). Short Term Training Awards (STTA): These scholarships are available for vocational and skills-based training in New Zealand for a period of less than one year. STTA applications can be lodged at any time of the year. The Scholarships are offered in Qualification Types.
